This bill provides that, if a requirement of the one-family and two-family
dwelling code applies to a manufactured home or an attachment to a manufactured
home, the manufactured home owner must comply with that requirement. If the
manufactured home is located in a manufactured home community, the operator of
the manufactured home community is not responsible for that compliance.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
101.652 of the statutes is created to read:
5101.652 Manufactured homes; responsibility for compliance. (1)
In this 6
(a) “Manufactured home” has the meaning given in s. 101.91 (2).
(b) “Manufactured home community” has the meaning given in s. 101.91 (5m).
(c) “Manufactured home community operator” has the meaning given in s. 4
(d) “Manufactured home owner” does not include a person that leases a 6
manufactured home from another.
If a requirement of the uniform dwelling code adopted by the department 8
under this subchapter applies to a manufactured home or to an attachment to a 9
manufactured home, the manufactured home owner shall comply with that 10
requirement. If the manufactured home is located in a manufactured home 11
community, the manufactured home community operator is not responsible for 12
compliance with that requirement unless the manufactured home community 13
operator is the manufactured home owner.
