This bill specifies a funding mechanism for a Minnesota-University of
Wisconsin System student reciprocity agreement providing for waiver of nonresident
tuition.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB896,1 4Section 1 . 20.235 (1) (e) (title) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB896,1,65 20.235 (1) (e) (title) Minnesota-Wisconsin public vocational school student
6reciprocity agreement.
SB896,2 7Section 2 . 20.285 (1) (gb) of the statutes is amended to read:
SB896,2,88 20.285 (1) (gb) General program operations. All moneys received from the
9operation of educational programs and related programs and as earnings from

1investments under s. 36.11 (11m) to carry out the purposes for which received,
2including the transfer of funds to par. (gj), and for payment of any reimbursement
3obligation under a Minnesota-University of Wisconsin System student reciprocity
4agreement providing for waiver of nonresident tuition. All tuition and fees received
5by the University of Wisconsin System under such an agreement and any net
6obligations received under such an agreement shall be credited to this appropriation
.
7In each fiscal year, the Board of Regents shall transfer no more than $30,338,500
8from this appropriation account to the medical assistance trust fund.
SB896,3 9Section 3. Effective date.
SB896,2,1010 (1) This act takes effect on July 1, 2023.
