AR9,1,2 Relating to: honoring the life and public service of Representative Lolita Schneiders.

AR9,1,5 Whereas, Representative Lolita “Lita” Schneiders, a dedicated public servant and loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on November 12, 2022 at the age of 91; and

AR9,1,8 Whereas, Lolita Schneiders was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 3, 1931 and attended Lourdes High School and Mundelein College before graduating from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a teaching degree in 1953; and

AR9,1,10 Whereas, Lolita Schneiders taught in Arbor Vitae, Minocqua, and in the Wausau area before settling in the Village of Menomonee Falls; and

AR9,1,13 Whereas, Lolita Schneiders went on to become the first female sales representative for a Wisconsin insurance company and later became a sales representative for a glass distributor; and

AR9,1,15 Whereas, Lolita Schneiders was elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 1980 and served with distinction for 16 years; and

AR9,2,3 Whereas, during her time in the assembly, Lolita Schneiders served on the Joint Committee on Finance and the Building Commission, chaired the State Capitol and Executive Residence Board, and was elected minority caucus secretary; and

AR9,2,5 Whereas, in 1999, Governor Tommy Thompson appointed Lolita Schneiders to the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents; and

AR9,2,8 Whereas, Lolita Schneiders cherished the time spent with her family, especially in the kitchen cooking family recipes and at the dinner table, sharing her experiences in politics and government; and

AR9,2,10 Whereas, she also enjoyed reading, entertaining, playing bridge and golf, and traveling with her late husband, Don; and

AR9,2,13 Whereas, Lolita Schneiders was an educator with a thirst for knowledge, who dedicated her life to serving her community and the state of Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it

AR9,2,16 Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin Assembly mourn the passing of Representative Lolita Schneiders and commemorate her life and public service.
