AR27,1,2 1Relating to: recognizing September 25, 2024 as See You at the Pole Day in the state
2of Wisconsin.
AR27,1,33 Whereas, See You at the Pole Day began in 1990 as a grassroots movement; and
AR27,1,54 Whereas, millions of students still celebrate See You at the Pole Day by meeting
5at their respective school's flagpole to gather for prayer; and
AR27,1,76 Whereas, such a prayer rally is led, organized, and initiated by students of their
7respective schools; and
AR27,1,98 Whereas, the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment establishes a freedom to
9exercise religion in the public sector; and
AR27,1,1110 Whereas, those same religious rights are enshrined in Article I, Section 18 of
11the Wisconsin State Constitution; and
AR27,1,1412 Whereas, Wisconsin State Statute section 118.13 provides that public officials,
13employees, and teachers may not intentionally discriminate against their students
14for purposes religious or otherwise; and

1Whereas, prayer is a way to unite communities around common values and
2expressed beliefs; and
AR27,2,43 Whereas, See You at the Pole Day is held annually on the fourth Wednesday of
4September; now, therefore, be it
AR27,2,7 5Resolved by the assembly, That the Assembly does recognize September 25,
62024, as See You at the Pole Day in the state of Wisconsin and encourages prayer
7rallies by students at their respective schools.
