AR15,1,1 1Relating to: honoring the life and public service of Representative Mike Endsley.
AR15,1,32 Whereas, Michael “Mike” Dee Endsley was born to Laverne and Beverly
3Endsley on March 4, 1962, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and
AR15,1,64 Whereas, Mike Endsley graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1980
5and from UW-Platteville in 1984, where he received a bachelor's degree in
6psychology and excelled as a collegiate football player; and
AR15,1,97 Whereas, Mike Endsley had a fulfilling career in business, spending more than
825 years in sales, including as a regional sales manager for Gardner Denver, before
9being elected to represent the 26th Assembly District in November 2010; and
AR15,1,1310 Whereas, during his two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, Mike Endsley
11served as Chair of the Aging and Long-Term Care Committee, and as Vice-Chair of
12both the Jobs, Economy, and Small Business Committee and the Small Business
13Development Committee; and
AR15,2,214 Whereas, while serving in the legislature, Mike Endsley authored and
15advocated for various bills relating to transportation, infrastructure, therapeutic

1medicine, mental health, law enforcement, corrections, and tax reform, among
2others; and
AR15,2,63 Whereas, despite Mike Endsley's eagerness to continue serving in the
4legislature, his political career was cut short after being diagnosed with mild
5cognitive impairment in 2014, which developed into early-onset Alzheimer's
6disease; and
AR15,2,107 Whereas, Mike Endsley's tenacity and spirit persevered over the next nine
8years as he advocated tirelessly for those experiencing memory loss, lobbied for
9funding to support patients and caregivers, and educated others about Alzheimer's
10disease; and
AR15,2,1511 Whereas, Mike Endsley volunteered with the Sheboygan County Walk to End
12Alzheimer's committee and spent many hours volunteering at The Gathering Place,
13a day program for adults with memory loss where he built friendships, facilitated
14activities, and took great pride in serving others while facing his own challenges with
15the disease; and
AR15,2,1716 Whereas, Mike Endsley passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July
1713, 2023; and
AR15,2,2018 Whereas, Mike Endsley will be remembered by his family and friends for his
19optimism, sense of humor, heartwarming smile, and passion for serving his
20community; now, therefore, be it
AR15,2,23 21Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin State
22Assembly join in honoring the life and public service of Representative Mike Endsley
23and extend their condolences to his family and friends.
