AJR57,1,32 Whereas, Flag Day is nationally celebrated annually on June 14th,
3commemorating the adoption of the flag of the United States; and
AJR57,1,54 Whereas, the flag of the United States is recognized as a symbol of our shared
5values as a nation, including liberty and justice for all; and
AJR57,1,76 Whereas, Bernard John Cigrand, a school teacher in Waubeka, Wisconsin, held
7the first recognized formal observance of Flag Day at the Stony Hill School; and
AJR57,1,108 Whereas, Flag Day gives citizens of the United States an opportunity to
9rededicate themselves to the ideals of our nation's founding and to consider what the
10flag of the United States means to them; now, therefore, be it
AJR57,1,12 11Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
12Legislature recognizes June 14, 2023, to be Flag Day.
