AJR110,1,63 Whereas, school nutrition professionals are highly skilled professionals with a
4wide array of duties that support students in all aspects of education, including
5preparing and serving food, complying with federal regulations, and managing the
6dietary restrictions of students; and
AJR110,1,107 Whereas, school meals are an integral part of a school day, and school nutrition
8professionals care deeply about the foods that students eat, work to procure locally
9sourced foods when possible, and spend significant time preparing menus to make
10sure that students have the nutritious foods they need to learn and grow; and
AJR110,1,1411 Whereas, school nutrition professionals care deeply about and are committed
12to the health and well-being of students across Wisconsin, forming special
13relationships with students and showing them their care through the meals they
14serve; and

1Whereas, school nutrition professionals teach kids how to select a complete
2meal, encourage them to take fruits and vegetables, and teach kids healthy eating
3habits that last a lifetime; and
AJR110,2,64 Whereas, the service and environment that school nutrition professionals
5provide to students is the closest part of the school day students have to their home
6life and can be the most comforting aspect of the school day that students have; and
AJR110,2,107 Whereas, school nutrition professionals work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive
8environment that is physically and emotionally taxing, and their commitment and
9dedication to the well-being of Wisconsin's students often go underappreciated; now,
10therefore, be it
AJR110,2,13 11Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
12Wisconsin Legislature recognize April 29 to May 3, 2024, as School Nutrition
13Professionals Appreciation Week; and, be it further
AJR110,2,16 14Resolved, That the legislature calls upon the people of Wisconsin to express
15their honor, affirmation, love, respect, and gratitude to school nutrition professionals
16everywhere; and, be it further
AJR110,2,18 17Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit copies of this
18resolution to the governor of Wisconsin.
