SB16,1,2 1An Act relating to: career and technical education incentive grants and making
2an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, Department of Workforce Development may award an
incentive grant to a school district in which students successfully completed certain
industry-recognized certification programs approved by DWD. This bill increases
the appropriation by $3,500,000 in fiscal year 2019-20 and fiscal year 2020-21 to
fund the incentive grants.

printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB16,1 3Section 1 . Fiscal changes.
SB16,2,34 (1) In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department
5of workforce development under s. 20.445 (1) (bz), the dollar amount for fiscal year
62019-20 is increased by $3,500,000 to fund career and technical education incentive
7grants under s. 106.273 (3). In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation

SB16,2 4Section 2 . Effective date.
SB16,2,65 (1) This act takes effect on the day after publication, or on the 2nd day after
6publication of the 2019 biennial budget act, whichever is later.
