Ambulatory surgical center reimbursement rates under Medical
The department of health services shall consult with 4
ambulatory surgical centers to develop a plan to increase reimbursement rates for 5
ambulatory surgical centers for services provided to recipients of Medical Assistance 6
under subchapter IV of chapter 49 of the statutes. During the 2017-19 fiscal 7
biennium, the department of health services may submit one or more requests to the 8
joint committee on finance to supplement the appropriation under section 20.435 (4) 9
(b) of the statutes in a total of no more than $2,500,000 from the appropriation under 10
section 20.865 (4) (a) of the statutes for the purpose of increasing reimbursement 11
rates under the Medical Assistance program for ambulatory surgical centers in 12
accordance with the plan established under this subsection. If, within 14 days after 13
the date of the department's submittal, the cochairpersons of the committee do not 14
notify the department of health services that the committee has scheduled a meeting 15
to review the request, the supplement is considered approved. If the cochairpersons 16
notify the department of health services that the committee has scheduled a meeting 17
to review the request, the supplement may be made only upon the approval of the 18
committee. Notwithstanding section 13.101 (3) of the statutes, the joint committee 19
on finance is not required to find that an emergency exists before making a 20
supplementation under this subsection.”.

(a) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation 13
to the department of justice under section 20.455 (2) (a) of the statutes, the dollar 14
amount for fiscal year 2017-18 is increased by $558,900 for the purpose of funding 15
division of criminal investigation overtime. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) 16
of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of justice under section 20.455 17
(2) (a) of the statutes, the dollar amount for fiscal year 2018-19 is increased by 18
$558,900 for the purpose of funding division of criminal investigation overtime.
(b) Notwithstanding section 16.42 (1) (e) of the statutes, in submitting 20
information under section 16.42 of the statutes for purposes of the 2019-21 biennial 21
budget bill, the department of justice shall submit information concerning the 22
appropriation under section 20.455 (2) (a) of the statutes as though the increase in 23
that appropriation under paragraph (a) had not been made.”.
